Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to learn about the tradition, find a class and book a session, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we treat any barrier you report as a defect to fix.

• Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site switches off its scroll effects, smooth scrolling and animated transitions.
• Keyboard access. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing on every page. Menus, forms, question lists and dialogs are built to work with a keyboard, and the cookie dialog keeps focus inside it while it is open.
• Structure. Every page has one main heading and an ordered outline of section headings, and landmarks for navigation, main content and footer.
• Text in the HTML. All page text, including every answer in the question lists, is real text in the page — not images of text — so it can be read aloud, enlarged and translated.
• Colour contrast. Our brand colours were adjusted so that body text meets the AA contrast ratio against the backgrounds it sits on.
• Images. Meaningful images carry text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• Tamil terms. Tamil spellings are marked as Tamil, so screen readers can pronounce them correctly.

• The interactive 3D varmam explorer is a visual aid. Its points are also listed as text on the same page, which is the accessible way to use it.
• Some older photographs in the gallery have short or general descriptions, which we are improving.
• Some documents, such as booking receipts, are generated as PDFs that may not be fully accessible.

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us: what you were trying to do, the page, and the device or assistive technology you were using. We will do our best to fix it, and to give you the information you need another way in the meantime.
